School Uniform

St David’s C of E Primary School places great importance on the wearing of school uniform. It is a valuable sign that children have pride in their membership of the school and in the team spirit it creates. We ask that all items of clothing and personal items are marked with your child’s name. Logo sweatshirts and PE tee-shirts are available from Thomas Moore in Exeter:

Parents should dress their children in sensible, practical clothes that reflect the school uniform listed below:
• school logo sweatshirts or blue jumpers/cardigans
• white polo shirt/blouse, white/grey shirts or polo shirts or logo polo shirts
• grey or black trousers/shorts/skirt/pinafore
• grey or white socks/tights socks or tights and plain dark shoes or boots or black trainers
• blue and white summer dress, white or black summer sandals

PE clothing

Children should have a drawstring bag for their PE kit, which should be kept in school at all times.

Indoor
Black or blue shorts
Plain white or school logo round neck T-shirts
Plimsolls or bare feet, but not trainers
In cold weather plain blue or black tracksuit bottoms may be worn for outdoor P.E

Outdoor
Shorts and T-shirt (as indoors)
Plimsolls or black trainers
Jewellery is NOT permitted, with the exception of a single earring stud in one or both ears. Children should be able to remove their own earrings for PE or games or should cover the earrings with micropore tape. Body jewellery, rings, necklaces, anklets and hooped or dangly earrings are not allowed in school. Nail varnish and body art is not permitted.

Children are NOT permitted to wear:
• Jeans or denim, including jackets
• Leggings, tracksuits, tops or bottoms (other than tracksuit bottoms for outdoor games in winter), trainers - other than plain black (except for outdoor games)
• Unsafe shoes - all shoes should be suitable for energetic playtimes. High heels, sling backs, platform soles, flip flops, fashion boots, canvas or damaged footwear can all be unsafe and are therefore NOT allowed in school
• Extreme hairstyles
• Patterned T-shirts (except school logo)
• Jackets bearing slogans or designs which are inappropriate for school
